 Nimco Made4You production unit in Portugal is an environmental certified company that is conscientious about their part in constructing a better future through some simple measures:

 

- Reducing industrial waste: last year, the amount of waste per pair was reduced in 20%, also the quality of it is important as we only work with natural leathers.
- Reducing the energy consumption: the office area benefits from a natural light and open able windows and that is a major source of reducing electricity consumption. The amount of electricity used has been decreasing every year, in 2010 only, it has decreased 10% which is a significant number as production has increased.
- “Paper Free” A very important fact is that Nimco Made4You is walking towards a “paper free” business as all communications are made through web based technology:
- All orders from clients are made on the website; in Portugal even comfort shoes are available online. All order confirmations are made by mail.
- Every client has its own username and password to access online his account and check the orders and all kinds of information.
- All catalogues are available for download and paper copies are being “avoided”.
- Even faxes enter and are sent by mail
- Future connection between the web platform and Navision will permit more and more interaction without printing and post mailing.

 

Packaging A very important part of our respect for the environment is our packaging concept: A priority in developing our packages was to ensure that they were made from recycled materials, and all shoe boxes are. All that is not recycled is recyclable and when that’s not the case there’s an important reason, and that is the case of our shoe bags: In their developing process cotton and linen was questioned, but why the option for nonwoven fabric? It is manufacturing the energy spent is a lot less, the chemicals and additives used are much less than those in natural fibers and after their life period recycling is possible.
